Protecting Your Landscape This Autumn

We all know autumn has a personality of its own. The sun is still strong, the leaves may become a little weary, and the flowers are working hard to give us their best summer color. It’s a beautiful time of year, but also begins a turning point for your landscape.

When you have invested in creating a beautiful outdoor space, autumn is not the season to ignore it. A little care right now can protect everything you have worked for and set you up for a gorgeous fall season.

Think of it as a mid-season tune-up for your yard.

Here are a few ways we like to keep landscapes at their best in late summer:

  • Refresh garden beds. A quick mulch touch-up helps preserve soil moisture and keep your plants healthy and happy, naturally.
  • Care for your lawn. Scheduling aeration and overseeding now help grass grow strong and lush without having to be overly reliant on supplemental applications of any kind including pesticides and water.
  • Deadhead and trim. Removing faded blooms and shaping plants keeps everything looking fresh and encourages more flowers.
  • Check your irrigation. Make sure sprinklers are working efficiently so plants get what they need without waste.

These little steps add up to big results. A landscape that is cared for in autumn will not just survive the end of summer—it will thrive into September and beyond.

Have fun and make a smile,
