The mission of APLD is to advance the profession of landscape design and to promote our members as qualified and dedicated professionals.
The Association of Professional Landscape Designers is dedicated to advancing the profession of landscape design and to promoting the recognition of landscape designers as qualified and dedicated professionals. Members receive a myriad of benefits and opportunities that support that core mission. Through volunteer efforts by those who are committed to its growth, APLD includes members throughout the United States who support multiple state chapters as well as individual international members. The association’s day-to-day management is headquartered in Harrisburg, PA.
APLD encourages all members to adhere to a code of professional standards, to actively participate in continuing education and to be current with state-of-the-art developments and trends throughout the field. The association also offers its members a Certified Professional Landscape Designer (CPLD) program based on built projects that provides professional recognition to those designers who can pass a rigorous peer review program. It offers consumers access to trained designers who can help them achieve the landscapes they truly desire.
The Irrigation Association is the leading membership organization for irrigation equipment and system manufacturers, dealers, distributors, designers, consultants, contractors and end users.
The IA is dedicated to promoting efficient irrigation technologies, products and services. The association serves its members and the irrigation industry by:
- Educating the public on sound practices and water management.
- Serving as a centralized clearinghouse for research and innovation.
- Improving industry proficiency through continuing education.
- Recognizing and promoting experience and excellence with professional certification.
- Lending expertise to water-use public policy at the local, state, regional and national levels.
Together with experts and stakeholders from industry, academia and the public sector, the IA works to:
- Define best practices for effective water management.
- Establish benchmarks and guidelines for irrigation products and applications.
- Promote efficient irrigation technology and practices.
- Advocate sound policies to ensure the availability, quality and conservation of water supplies.


Founded in 1974, the Irrigation Association of New Jersey is a voluntary nonprofit organization formed to:
- Promote the proper use and design of irrigation systems.
- Promote water conservation.
- Collect and disseminate information of concern to its members, the public and associated industries.
- Keep the public, private institutions and governmental agencies abreast of the economic impact and concerns of its members.
- Conduct educational programs.
Water Conservation Goal Statement: The Irrigation Association of New Jersey, in acknowledging the value of dependable water supplies to our industry, commits itself and its members to water conservation. Making this commitment we have adopted these objectives:
- To develop water conserving design criteria as minimum standards for the industry.
- To teach water conserving design and techniques.
- To educate the end-user about water conservation practices and efficient programming.

The National Association of Landscape Professionals (formed by a merger of the Associated Landscape Contractors of America (ALCA) and the Professionals Lawn Care Association of America (PLCAA)) is the trade association representing an industry of more than 1 million landscape, lawn care, tree care, irrigation, and horticulture professionals in the United States, Canada and overseas. We are committed to advancing the industry and helping our members succeed through advocacy, education, networking, training, and professional development.


New Jersey Landscape Contractors Association represents the entire Green Industry in New Jersey including landscape contractors, landscape architects, sod growers, nurseries, growers, garden centers, horticulturists, floriculture and the industries that supply them.
Through educational seminars, trade shows, social events, networking opportunities, membership meetings, magazines and professionalism in all that we do, the Association is able to fulfill its mission.
The New Jersey Nursery and Landscape Association’s mission is to be the leading organization for the advancement of green industry businesses in New Jersey. Our primary purposes are:
- Foster membership networking and communication.
- Educate our members of the best management and business practices available and keep them current on industry trends.
- Promote our members products and services to the public.
- Advocate for our membership in government affairs.
Put simply, the NJNLA was created, and still exists today, for the purpose of bringing nurserymen, garden retailers, and landscape professionals together to advance the great profession of commercial horticulture. With over 380 member business in New Jersey, accounting for thousands of employees, the NJNLA continues to grow as we pursue our mission.
Our members are educated professional who serve in a varied or leadership roles, both within our organization, but also in other state and national agricultural and landscape groups as well.

New Jersey Turfgrass Association’s (NJTA) Mission is to promote the Turfgrass Industry and enhance the environment through education, professionalism, leadership, and our partnership with Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.
To gather together all the turf interest in the State of New Jersey into a cooperative group for the collection, preservation, and dissemination of information pertinent to the development and maintenance of turfgrass areas.
